Video: Lightning Strikes St. Peter’s Basilica As Pope Benedict XVI Resigns

On Monday just hours after Pope Benedict XVI announced his resignation, lightning struck St Peter's Basilica. The lightning strike happened around 6p.m.

It could be remembered that in January 30, a seagull attacked a dove of peace released by Pope Benedict XVI from his window over St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican.
